International Gynae Awareness Day – Are you going to get involved?

Hayley Solich, The Creaticians and Kath Mazzella OAM, founder of GAIN and the International Gynae Awareness Day (IGAD), discuss IGAD and issue a heart felt challenge to men and women around the globe.

The Creaticians are very proud to be supporting, Kath Mazzella OAM, for the International Gynae Awareness Day campaign as part of their 2011-2012 community service program.  This video was created to heighten the awareness of why the day is so important and to offer an invitation to men and women around the globe to get involved.

Millions of women every year will suffer from a Gynae (Gynecological, Gynaecological) related condition or sexually transmitted infection.  This campaign is to heighten the awareness of the  risks, symptoms, and treatments so that women have a better chance of survival and the suffering of their families can be diminished.

Please pass on the link to this video to as many as possible to help us in spreading the message across the globe.

Vulva is to vagina, as penis is to testicles…so why don’t we call it what it is???

gain-logoI presented at Vulval Awareness Day on Saturday. Em from 92.9 hosted and said she’s realised she’s been telling her daughters the incorrect terminology; vagina instead of vulva for the external genitalia. She said she was blown away by the information. (If only there were a thousand women there!)

Following that she went on air and spoke about the issue so that women can know the difference between the two.

Em told me the radio station had complaints about the use of the world ‘vulva’. Note: they use the word ‘penis’ all the time. Still a long way to go…
